Planning the site
How to plan a therapy website—the page map we build before design
A plan is the list of URLs Therapist Website Studio will publish: who each page is for, which services are real this year, where you actually work, and the proof you can show—status, fee and session length. It is not a blank worksheet, a blog strategy for modalities you do not offer, or a folder of wireframes that never ships.
Example bespoke sites
Morrow Lane is a designed example of a Manchester practice layout. It shows a planned page shape—not a client’s signed-off sitemap export.

Space to work through what matters
Individual counselling in Manchester, and online across the UK. Anxiety, grief, and what is hard to put into words.

Anxiety
£70
50 minutes
For worry that is taking up the week. We stay with it, rather than rushing you towards a fix.

Grief
£70
50 minutes
For a death, or another loss. There is no date by which you should feel better.

Online sessions
£70
50 minutes
The same counsellor, from your own home, anywhere in the UK.
The first session
A chance to see if this is the right counselling.
We talk about what you want from the work and how often we would meet. You do not need to send a history beforehand. Please give 48 hours if you need to cancel. What you say in the session stays there, except where the law requires otherwise.

A short note is enough
Your name, your email, and the Manchester room or online. Please do not include a clinical history.

Under the surface
Site plan as structured Service.
This block is on the page because generic planning checklists hide the URL list. The sample Service describes reader, services and pages we ship.

}The website we deliver
Start with the reader and the real work
Before layout we write down who reads the site—an adult, a parent, a couple, another practitioner—and which services you offer now. BACP’s private practice toolkit reminds that public pages should match work you are qualified to offer; we use it as context, not as our price list.
A page is added when that reader, service or place needs its own answer—not to chase a keyword for work you do not do.
The page map we hand to design
Typical solo builds include home, about, one URL per real service, fees, contact and policies you need. Growth Managed adds URLs when a second service or location is genuine—not a town pasted for reach.
Whether one scroll or several URLs fits better is one page versus multi-page therapist website. Baseline content expectations are in what a counsellor website should include.
| On the plan we execute | Not on the plan |
|---|---|
| One URL per service you actually offer | A modality you have not trained in |
| A place page only where you work | Nearby towns added for search |
| Register status and fee you approve | Testimonials we invent |
| Handover of live approved pages | Wireframes that never become HTML |
| Links between related service pages | A blog calendar with no articles |
Proof on the plan: status, fee, reach
Proof means membership or registration you hold today, the session fee and length in text, and honest room or online reach—aligned with the therapy practice launch checklist.
Qualification wording detail is counselling qualifications for private practice. We do not plan clinical pathways, consent forms or treatment menus on the marketing site.
Structure crawlers and answer engines can follow
Google’s SEO starter guide treats clear structure as something a bot can follow. The approved plan becomes ordinary links between pages and the same facts in structured data—so Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity quote services and fees from HTML, not from a PDF plan that never launched.
From plan to live site
Delivery is usually within 7–14 days with two design rounds once facts and usable images are in—see how we build. Cutover mechanics are private practice website launch checklist.
Handover is the pages, fee and enquiry—not unused mockups. If the work you offer changes later, affected URLs are rewritten on Managed or Website Care.
Planning at list price
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. The plan is how every website project starts—not a separate planning SKU.
Commission detail can continue in therapist website design brief. Start the build from therapist website design or pricing.

- Is the plan a paid worksheet?
- No. It is the page list inside the published website build.
- Do you add location pages for nearby towns?
- Only if you work there. A town you do not serve stays off the map.
- What do you need from me to plan?
- Services, fee, status you hold, places you work, and what must not be claimed on the site.
