Therapist Website Studio

Design brief

Therapist website design brief—the facts we collect before we design your pages

The brief is not a mood board or a theme pick. Therapist Website Studio records who the site is for, each service you want named, the fee and session length, in-person or online reach, the membership or registration you hold today, and what must not appear—modalities you have not trained in, towns you do not work in, protected titles you do not hold. Approved answers become homepage, service and about copy in HTML.

Example bespoke sites

Linden Walk is a designed example in Edinburgh. It shows layout after a brief is executed—not a filled-in client brief or a downloadable template.

Edinburgh · online across the UK

Counselling and psychotherapy, named apart.

Choose the work that fits. Each has its own page, its own fee, and the same short way to write.

Counselling

A weekly place to start

£70

50 minutes · Edinburgh room or online

A weekly session for something you want to work on now. For adults, in Edinburgh or online.

Psychotherapy

Longer work, with its own page

£85

50 minutes · the pattern underneath

For a pattern that keeps returning, when a single conversation is not enough. Its own page, and its own fee.

Which are you asking about?

The form asks for counselling or psychotherapy, so the reply matches the work. It does not ask you to explain a history.

Name, email, which route, and Edinburgh or online.

Brief fields machines quote.

Mood boards do not crawl. We publish brief facts in page copy so Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity repeat services, fee and status accurately.

Commissioning brief in data.

This block is on the page because briefs drift into aesthetics. The sample Service names reader, services, fee and status fields.

The website we deliver

What we ask before the first design round

Practice name spelling, primary reader, each service URL you need, public fee, session length, room or online honesty, and register-backed status. We also ask for exclusions: what the site must never claim.

The page map those answers feed is how to plan a therapy website. Naming and domain sit in their own guides—we do not duplicate them inside the brief form.

Brief facts we publish versus creative shortcuts.

What we will not invent

We do not upgrade BACP member to accredited, or add psychologist when HCPC does not list you. The ethical framework is the reference for how status should read.

The brief is public marketing facts—not clinical notes, supervision records or intake questionnaires.

Solo brief versus centre brief

A group practice brief names each practitioner and status when they appear on the site. We do not reuse a solo concept homepage and imply a team—centre builds are quoted on therapy centre website design.

Growth Managed applies when a second genuine service or location needs its own URL; the brief states which URLs are real before design starts.

From brief to crawlable pages

Once you approve the words, they ship in structured data beside visible copy so Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity quote the reader, services, fee and status you actually hold—not a slogan we added for tone.

Copy tone and sentence-level writing continue in writing therapist website copy when you need that guide; the brief is the fact list underneath.

Brief included at published prices

Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. Commissioning the brief is part of every website project—no separate brief SKU or generator form.

Questions

Do I need designer jargon for the brief?
No. Plain answers about your practice are enough—we turn them into pages.
Is the brief a paid document?
No. It is how the published website build starts.
What if my services change after launch?
Affected pages are rewritten on Managed or Website Care when the public offer changes.
