Site shape
One page or a multi-page therapist website?
The right shape follows how many distinct offers you publish in public: one session type at one fee can sit on a short site; several readers or fees are easier when each has its own URL. This guide compares those layouts fairly, then how a bespoke studio build keeps each offer in clean HTML and structured data for search and AI answers.
Example bespoke sites
Alder Quay is a designed multi-page example in Bristol. It is a layout concept, not a ranking case study or a client list.

AI answers quote the paragraph that matches the question. We give each real service its own URL and fee line so Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can point to one page for couples and another for individuals.

This block is on the page because shape debates ignore data. The sample Service names one offer with an Offer beside the fee you approved.

When a single page is enough
A one-page site suits a practice with one clear offer: for example individual counselling at one fee, one session length, and one way to enquire. The visitor scrolls through who you are, what you offer, the fee in text, and contact details without hunting for a second service hidden in the same paragraph.
BACP’s blogging and website basics reminds practitioners that public pages should describe qualifications, methods and costs accurately. That can live on one URL when there is only one service to describe.
When separate pages help readers
Couples work beside individual therapy, supervision beside client sessions, or in-person beside online with different fees each deserve their own page. The homepage can introduce the practice and link to each service with the fee that belongs on that route.
See structuring therapy services and specialisms and private practice website sitemap for how URLs are grouped. Online therapy websites covers when remote work needs its own page.
| Practice pattern | Usual site shape |
|---|---|
| One session type, one fee | One page or a very small site |
| Two fees or two readers | A page per real offer |
| Centre with several practitioners | Hub plus practitioner or service routes |
| Fee and status on every offer | Offer JSON-LD beside each service URL |
Search and AI answers without shape folklore
Google’s helpful content guidance asks whether a page answers a specific need. A single-purpose one-page site can do that when the need is singular. Adding pages is useful when each URL names one service, not because more URLs are a ranking tactic on their own.
The SEO starter guide describes pages that can be linked and fetched. Structured data should name the same service the visible heading names. Search engines and AI answers quote the HTML they can read; the decision is clarity for the reader, not a penalty or reward for scrolling versus clicking.
How the studio matches shape to the brief
Standard Managed fits a short site when one offer fills the public pages. Growth Managed is the usual fit when each real service needs its own page, navigation, and fee line. We compose therapist website design from your approved services rather than stretching one long scroll so a visitor must guess which paragraph is couples work.
Internal links stay honest: the homepage names each service and points to it; the fee on that page matches the fee in the menu. Therapy Search UK is a separate free directory; the same service names and fees should appear there as on your domain.
Published prices for the practice website
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. The domain stays in your name. The monthly fee on Managed is management, not paying the site off.
Growth Managed is the published tier when several service pages are in scope. Full figures sit on pricing.

- Is a one-page therapist website bad for search?
- Google’s helpful-content guidance cares whether the page answers the need. One clear offer on one page is fine. Shape is not a penalty story.
- When should I add more pages?
- When a second reader, modality, or fee would be unclear on the same screen. Each real service gets its own URL and fee in text.
- Does Growth Managed always mean more pages?
- Growth is the usual fit when each service needs its own page. The prices are the published Managed and Growth figures on the pricing page.
