Internal links
Internal linking for therapy sites
We link service, fee, about and contact with anchors that name the destination—not “click here” or a footer of keywords. Linden Walk is a designed example of that small map, not a ranking diagram. Crawlers and people should reach the fee from the service sentence; we do not sell link schemes or promise positions from anchor text.
Example bespoke sites
Linden Walk is a designed example in Edinburgh. Its menus and in-copy links are labelled patterns—not proof of rank from internal PageRank.

Edinburgh · online across the UK
Counselling and psychotherapy, named apart.
Choose the work that fits. Each has its own page, its own fee, and the same short way to write.

Counselling
A weekly place to start
£70
50 minutes · Edinburgh room or online
A weekly session for something you want to work on now. For adults, in Edinburgh or online.
Psychotherapy
Longer work, with its own page
£85
50 minutes · the pattern underneath
For a pattern that keeps returning, when a single conversation is not enough. Its own page, and its own fee.

Which are you asking about?
The form asks for counselling or psychotherapy, so the reply matches the work. It does not ask you to explain a history.
Name, email, which route, and Edinburgh or online.

Internal linking gets sold as a count game. We compose a small practice map—structured data does not replace the anchor.

Under the surface
Internal links in data.
This block is on the page because footers become keyword farms. The sample Service names service-fee-contact paths without a link quota.

A small map for a small site
Home names each real service. Each service links to the fee page and the enquiry route. About links status and back to the work. A location page, when you have a room, links to services there—not a ring of towns you do not use.
Google’s SEO starter guide treats links as wayfinding—the anchor should match the next page, same idea as therapy website navigation examples.
| On the build | Left off |
|---|---|
| Anchor names the destination | Click here |
| Fee linked from each service | Fee nobody can reach |
| Menu lists real services only | Footer keyword farm |
| Retired URLs redirected | Links to 404s |
| No hidden link blocks | Magic internal link count |
Anchors we will write
“Couples counselling” goes to the couples page. “Fees” goes to the fee page. “Contact” goes to the form—we do not use “read more” as the only clue.
First contact flow is a clear first contact journey; structured data repeats visible facts but does not replace the anchor in the paragraph.
Towns and directories
Town URLs exist only where you work—therapist website town pages explains the boundary. A directory profile may link to your homepage; we do not mirror their site with doorway pages on yours.
Therapy Search UK is a separate free directory, not Therapist Website Studio—if you list there, one honest link to your domain is enough without a studio-managed footer of third-party URLs.
Links composed in design
Menus, service cross-links and fee paths are part of therapist website design and SEO for therapists—£149 setup and £49 a month on Standard Managed for 12 months, then £39; Prices include VAT.
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. We do not sell internal-link audits, footer keyword blocks, or PageRank promises as add-ons. Outright is £650 or £995. Intentional anchors between service, fee and contact stay in the build and Care—not a monthly “link building” retainer.

- How many internal links should a page have?
- Enough to reach the fee and enquiry. We do not set a magic number.
- Do you link every nearby town?
- No. Only places you actually work.
- Is a big footer menu good for SEO?
- Not on the site we build. The menu is your real services.
