Redesign brief
Counselling website redesign brief
We collect the brief from the practice you already have—who you see, the fee, URLs directories link to, the status you hold, room or online reach, and what on the current site blocks an enquiry—then two design rounds sit on that facts sheet, not on a mood board. Alder Quay shows composed layout on a designed example; this page is what we ask on a call, not homework you must finish before you write in.
Example bespoke sites
Alder Quay is a designed example in Bristol. It is not a client brief document or proof of enquiry lift.

Under the surface
Redesign brief in data.
This block is on the page because briefs drift to mood boards. The sample Service names who you see, fee, URLs and site friction.

What we collect before design
Old paths worth keeping, the fee you will publish, hours you are willing to show, and membership or registration you actually hold. Pain on the current site is plain language—the enquiry is hard to find, the fee is missing, the form asks for a diagnosis, or the menu lists services you stopped.
Whether a rebuild is due yet is when to redesign a counselling website; repair versus rebuild is therapist website redesign vs repair.
| In the brief | Left off |
|---|---|
| URLs to keep or redirect | A blank-slate rebuild with no map |
| Current fee you approve | A price we guess |
| Status you actually hold | A title you do not have |
| What blocks enquiry today | A specialism you do not offer |
| Two design rounds after facts | Visuals before the fee is known |
What you want left alone
A name, a photograph you can still use, or a page a directory already links to can stay—if the words on it are still true. A logo only enters the brief when you already have files we can publish; we do not sell a separate identity package.
Content we carry forward is sorted in therapy website content migration; URL pairs for search are in therapy website SEO migration checklist.
Brief becomes HTML, not a ranking plan
Each real service keeps its own URL when the old path still fits, or a redirect when it does not—helpful content means specific pages, not a general essay on mental health to look thorough.
Delivery window and rounds are on therapist website redesign timeline and how we build. You approve every public sentence before launch.
Brief inside the published redesign offer
Counselling rebuilds are quoted at website redesign for counsellors and website redesign for therapists—£149 setup and £49 a month on Standard Managed for 12 months, then £39; Prices include VAT.
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. You do not need a finished brief document before the first call—we gather it together. We do not promise the new site will hold every old ranking or sell a paid “brief template” download separate from the build.
A free website review, or a free consultation
A free website review if you already have a public site, or a free 20-minute consultation if you do not.

- Do I need a written brief before I contact you?
- No. The consultation collects it. This page lists what we ask.
- What if I do not know the old URLs?
- We list the public paths we can see, then you mark which to keep.
- Is a new logo part of the brief?
- Only if you already have one you can use. We do not sell identity as an add-on.
