Best website builder for therapists in the UK?
Which tool fits the practice you have, not the practice you might have in five years?
There is no single best builder. Wix and Squarespace are strong first sites. WordPress suits a practice that will keep editing and accept the care. Webflow suits a designed build with a designer in the loop. A commissioned site is for when the services, rooms and enquiry path need to be planned together. Any of them can be found in search if the pages are clear.
Who each option is good for
Wix, Squarespace, WordPress.com and Webflow all document search controls: titles, sitemaps, and, depending on the plan, redirects or structured data. A builder is not invisible to Google. A bespoke site is not automatically cited by an assistant.
Platform details were checked against the vendors’ own pages on 3 October 2026. Plan names and prices change with currency, term and promotion, so the figure on the vendor’s pricing page that day is the one to use. This page does not copy a checkout price.
| Option | Usually a good fit | Think twice when |
|---|---|---|
| Wix | A solo counsellor who will edit a simple site and wants layout freedom | The URLs, services and contact path have become a tangle |
| Squarespace | A therapist who wants a polished template and a small set of pages | Fees, formats and rooms no longer fit the template |
| WordPress.com | You will write often and want plugins on a paid plan | You do not want to judge plugins, updates and backups |
| Self-hosted WordPress | You or a developer will own hosting, updates and redirects | Nobody is named to do that care |
| Webflow | A designer is building a specific visual system | You expect to restyle every page yourself without that skill |
| Commissioned rebuild | Several services, a real room strategy, or a site you want to own | A clear one-page practice site already does the job |
What changes when the practice grows
A first website can be home, about, one service and contact. The work changes when you add couples sessions, a second room, supervision, or a fee that people cannot find. Those are page decisions. They can be made inside a builder when the plan allows the pages and the redirects. They are the reason for a rebuild when the theme, the URLs or the enquiry form keep fighting the practice.
A solo practice site from this studio is usually Managed, from £149 setup and £49 a month. Buying outright is £650 or £995. That is the website, not a platform subscription you might also keep during a move. A group practice is quoted separately. If the current site is already clear, the review should say what to improve and stop there.
Stay, or look at one platform
This page is the comparison of those options.
- Stay and improve when the pages already name the work, the fee and how to write
- Compare Wix and Squarespace only if you are choosing between those two
- Read the Wix, Squarespace or WordPress note before you migrate
- Use the review if you cannot tell whether the structure or the tool is the problem
