Wix vs Squarespace for therapists in the UK
If the choice is only these two, which differences actually matter?
Choose Wix when you want to place elements more freely and you will use its SEO and redirect tools. Choose Squarespace when you want a tighter template and you will put fees and services in real pages. Both can be indexed. Pick the one you will keep accurate.
The differences that change the practice site
This is not the five-way comparison. WordPress and Webflow are on the builder guide. Prices are on each vendor’s own page; they were not stable enough, on 3 October 2026, to copy into this table.
| Wix | Squarespace | |
|---|---|---|
| Editing | Freeform layout. Easy to make an untidy page. | Template-led. Harder to break, harder to escape. |
| Search tools | Titles, sitemap, structured data, redirects, Search Console. | Titles, sitemap, structured data, URL mappings. |
| Leaving | No full design export. Redirects must be rebuilt on the new host. | Text export is partial. Mappings stop when the domain leaves. |
| A first site | Fits a counsellor who wants to arrange the page. | Fits a therapist who wants the template to hold the page. |
Two decisions, and a third only if you need it
A newly qualified counsellor who needs a site this month, with one offer and time to edit: either platform is reasonable. Wix if they want to move sections around. Squarespace if they want the template to decide the grid. The next job is the same on both: a fee page and a short contact form.
A couples therapist whose photographs matter more than a custom menu: Squarespace is often the calmer visual start. Wix still works if they already know it. Neither choice is a ranking strategy.
A third route, a commissioned rebuild, is for a practice that already has several services, a room and an online scope, and cannot make those distinct on the current site. It is not the default answer to this comparison.
