Domain transfer
Therapy website domain transfer checklist
Registrar transfer is separate from a site move: the domain stays in an account you control, unlock and auth codes are handled on the registrar’s own screens—not a click-path we invent—and email is checked before DNS points at new hosting. Morrow Lane is a designed example site, not a registrar login; we do not become the registrant, print “24 hours” as a rule, or add an unpublished studio transfer fee.
Example bespoke sites
Morrow Lane is a designed example in Manchester. It is not a registrar account or a transfer case study.

Grief

The first session
A chance to see if this is the right counselling.
We talk about what you want from the work and how often we would meet. You do not need to send a history beforehand. Please give 48 hours if you need to cancel. What you say in the session stays there, except where the law requires otherwise.

Under the surface
Domain transfer in data.
This block is on the page because transfers become registrar fiction. The sample Service names your account, DNS and email checked first.

The domain stays in your name
We do not take the domain into the studio’s name to make hosting easier—cancelling management later does not move ownership to us. Principles are on therapist website ownership and therapist website hosting and ownership.
Choosing a practice hostname is how to choose a therapy practice domain name; moving to a different hostname is moving a therapist website to a new domain—a rename with redirects, not the same job as registrar transfer alone.
| We check | Left off |
|---|---|
| Account and registrant in your name | Domain parked with the studio |
| Email continuity before DNS change | Mail broken after cutover |
| Registrar’s own unlock steps | Screenshots we invented |
| Site reviewed before nameservers switch | DNS first, site later |
| Published website price only | A hidden handover fee |
DNS, site move and Search Console
Pointing DNS at new hosting waits until the new site has been looked at. If public paths change, therapy website SEO migration checklist records pairs—Google’s site-move guidance is redirects and monitoring, not a rank hold promise.
Search Console verification is redone when the property method depended on a DNS record you removed—Search Console is read on your property, not a propagation time we guarantee.
Timing without a fairy tale
Some registrars delay a transfer—that delay is theirs. We do not treat registrar marketing copy as a studio promise.
Terms and pricing on this site cover cancellation and the fact the domain remains yours; this checklist does not add a transfer surcharge we have not published.
Transfer work inside migration
Registrar coordination sits in website migration for therapists and rebuilds on website redesign for therapists—£149 setup and £49 a month on Standard Managed for 12 months, then £39; Prices include VAT.
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. We do not invoice a separate “domain transfer” line item or promise rankings unchanged because the registrar finished on a particular afternoon. Outright is £650 or £995.
