Therapist Website Studio

Setting up

Setting up private practice after qualification—the website strand we build while you handle insurance, supervision and registration

Qualification is one milestone; setup also involves insurers, supervisors, professional bodies and sometimes sole-trader registration. Therapist Website Studio owns only the public digital layer: practice name on a domain that stays in your name, services and fee in HTML, a short enquiry, and structured data so the first accurate description exists for search and answer engines—not a tax, supervision or clinical checklist.

Example bespoke sites

Meridian Room is a designed example of a quiet Leeds practice layout. It is not a post-qualification setup case study or a live client launch.

Time enough to say what the trouble actually is

Individual psychotherapy, usually weekly. £85 for 50 minutes. Thursdays in Leeds, and online on the other days.

To see whether this work fits

These meetings are not an assessment, and you are not asked to send a history. A loss, a relationship, or work are ordinary places to begin.

Thursdays in the Leeds room. Other days online across the UK. Your name, your email, and which you prefer.

Under the surface

New practice Service markup.

This block is on the page because setup is wider than a logo. The sample Service names a new private-practice website with GBP Offer copy.

The website we deliver

What setup means beyond a homepage

GOV.UK explains setting up as a sole trader when you trade under your own name or a business name. BACP’s private practice toolkit is the wider professional checklist we link—not rewrite. Insurance, supervision and session fees are yours to decide; we publish only what a stranger needs before they write.

This guide is profession-wide. Counsellor-specific milestones sit in the companion guide for what to do after qualifying as a counsellor.

The digital setup we deliver

We register the domain in your name, plan email on that domain for launch, and compose pages with fees and services in text plus structured data. Google’s starter guide favours real URLs per offer instead of one page that implies everything.

If a builder page already exists, the free website review states what is working. Staying on Wix, Squarespace, WordPress or Webflow is valid; we rebuild when you want this structure and ongoing care.

Practice name and the domain

Personal name or practice brand can both work; either can be the domain. Consistency matters more than poetry—see how to name a therapy practice when you are choosing.

We do not publish your home address unless you see clients there and want it public.

Published prices for the digital launch

Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. The domain stays in your name. Managed at published rates covers the digital launch and ongoing site care; it does not replace business registration or professional body paperwork.

Modality-specific design pages include therapist website design and website design for newly qualified counsellors when that route fits.

Questions

Do you register my sole trader status with HMRC?
No. We link GOV.UK guidance. Registration and tax stay with you and your adviser.
Can I use my own name as the practice?
Yes. Brand versus personal name is your choice; we keep spelling consistent in HTML and structured data.
How long until the site is live?
Usually within 7–14 days once we have approved facts and your sign-off on copy.
