HCPC on the site
How to display HCPC registration on a website
The Health and Care Professions Council lists which practitioner titles are protected in the UK. This guide follows HCPC’s published list, then explains how a practice site can show your registration in text, link the public register, and mark the same facts in structured data.
Example bespoke sites
Linden Walk is a designed example in Edinburgh. It is not an HCPC register entry or a screenshot from a real registrant.

Choose the work that fits. Each has its own page, its own fee, and the same short way to write.

Counselling

£70
50 minutes · Edinburgh room or online
A weekly session for something you want to work on now. For adults, in Edinburgh or online.
Psychotherapy

£85
50 minutes · the pattern underneath
For a pattern that keeps returning, when a single conversation is not enough. Its own page, and its own fee.

Which are you asking about?
The form asks for counselling or psychotherapy, so the reply matches the work. It does not ask you to explain a history.

This block is on the page because HCPC titles are easy to soften. The sample Person entity matches the check-the-register line on screen.

Protected titles HCPC regulates
HCPC publishes the professions and protected titles it regulates. Practitioner psychologist titles, art therapist, dramatherapist and others each have their own entry. The sentence on your site should use the title your registration record shows, not a friendlier nearby phrase.
Counselling psychologist is one protected title when that is what you hold. Art therapist and dramatherapist stay separate lines when both apply. Everyday phrases such as child therapist or play therapist are not themselves HCPC protected titles; the site uses the registered title HCPC gives you.
Register link beside the title
Visitors can verify registration through check the register. We place the protected title in a short about sentence, then link that line to your HCPC entry. A badge without words leaves screen readers and answer engines with nothing precise to quote.
HCPC’s standards of conduct, performance and ethics set expectations for how registrants communicate in public. Pair that with presenting credentials clearly for BACP and UKCP lines on the same site when those memberships also apply.
| What we put on the page | What we put in the data |
|---|---|
| Protected title exactly as HCPC lists it | hasCredential or jobTitle aligned with that sentence |
| Link to your HCPC register entry | sameAs URL that opens check the register |
| Separate URLs for therapy, assessment or reports when each is real | Service entities per offer |
| Fees written in text on each service page | Offer with price and description |
Art, drama and psychology sites
Art therapist and dramatherapist each have dedicated studio offers on art therapist websites and dramatherapist websites because the protected titles differ. Counselling and other psychologist routes sit on psychologist website design.
When you hold more than one HCPC registration, each title appears in the wording you approve. The site can link each title to the matching register entry.
What we build for HCPC registrants
We compose bespoke pages with fees in HTML and structured data beside the HCPC line. Answer engines soften protected titles when pages use generic psychologist language; the visible sentence is the one we repeat in JSON-LD for Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.
Therapy Search UK is a separate free directory. Your site, directory profiles and register entry should use the same title and link.

- Is child therapist a protected HCPC title?
- HCPC’s professions list is the reference. We use the protected title on your registration record, not an everyday phrase HCPC does not list.
- Can art therapist and dramatherapist share one title line?
- Each protected title gets its own accurate sentence when you hold both registrations.
- Who confirms my HCPC registration?
- The public register is the check. The site states the title you approve and links the entry a visitor can open.
