BACP on the site

How to display BACP membership on a website

BACP membership categories and the BACP Register are described on BACP’s own pages, not invented here. This guide summarises what to put in plain text, when to link the register, and how a practice site can repeat the same facts for search and AI answers.

Morrow Lane is a designed example set in Manchester. The status line on the about page is fictional; it is not a BACP member this studio represents.

The website we deliver

Member, registered member and accredited

BACP uses distinct membership categories. The BACP Register is the public check for practitioners who meet BACP’s standards for registration. Member, registered member and accredited member are not interchangeable phrases. The sentence on your about page should match the category you hold today.

The ethical framework expects qualifications, working methods and costs to be described accurately in public. Read BACP’s wording for your category rather than upgrading a label for marketing.

Text and a link the visitor can check

A badge image alone does not tell a visitor—or a screen reader—what you hold. We put the status in a short sentence, then add the register link when you are listed on the BACP Register. A visitor should be able to verify the entry without emailing you for a certificate.

BACP’s blogging and website basics toolkit PDF is aimed at members thinking about public pages. Use it alongside presenting credentials clearly for the wider picture. The BACP register is where a visitor checks membership.

PSA and the register

The Professional Standards Authority accredits registers, including the BACP Register. That accreditation belongs to the register scheme, not to a personal trophy line on your homepage.

If you use the BACP Therapist Directory, the profile fields should match the website. Therapy Search UK is a separate free directory; it is not part of a website build with this studio.

What we build on a counsellor site

On counsellor website design we compose the about page with your approved BACP line, a register link when it applies, and structured data that repeats the same status for Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. Answer engines often shorten “member” to “accredited”; the visible sentence is the one we want quoted.

Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and Webflow can host accurate credential lines. Our work is pairing HTML text with JSON-LD, not swapping logos for sentences.

Published prices for the practice website

Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. The domain stays in your name. The monthly fee on Managed is management, not paying the site off. Figures are on the pricing page only.

For UKCP registration wording, see how to display UKCP registration on a website. If both bodies apply, each gets its own accurate line.

Questions

Can the site say BACP accredited if I am a member?
Use accredited member when BACP assigns that category to you; membership alone uses the membership wording BACP provides.
Is a logo enough on the about page?
No. The status belongs in text, with a register link when you are listed. A logo sits beside the sentence only when BACP allows its use for your category.
Does the website fee include BACP membership?
No. The build states the membership you already hold.
