Indexed means Google reports the URL. Excluded can mean you asked for that, the canonical points elsewhere, or the URL was not found—each row has its own detail link inside the tool.

Google’s console is the source for these words; canonical guidance is why duplicate hostnames get fixed in links and tags, not in a blog paraphrase alone.

What we fix first

A public service that is noindex or blocked by robots when it should be fetched. Then a missing redirect on a URL clients still bookmark. Then a canonical that points at the wrong host or http when https is live.

A page you intended to leave out of the index stays out—we do not force thank-you or draft URLs online to chase a green total.
