How to get counselling clients
Which route is the website actually responsible for?
Colleagues, directories, search and people who already know your name send visitors for different reasons. The website’s job is to make the practice understandable and easy to contact once they arrive. It does not replace the other routes.
Review the site if it is the gap
Four routes, one set of public facts
A new practice often depends more on directories and colleagues. An established practice often depends more on the site being clear for people who arrive with a specific question. Both still need the same fees, status and contact route.
| Route | What the website can do |
|---|---|
| A colleague’s referral | Confirm approach, fees and how to start for someone who already has your name. |
| A directory | Match the public facts and offer a deeper page than the listing. |
| Search | Give each real service and place a page that answers that question. |
| A recommendation | Make the same facts easy to forward. |
When the site is the thing to fix
If people arrive and then leave because the fee, the format or the way to write is missing, the website is the gap. A review is the right next step. If nobody knows the practice exists yet, a new website will not create a referral network. This studio does not sell advertising or a general marketing retainer.
