Your directory profile and your own website
What is each one for, and what should match between them?
A directory helps people discover and compare practitioners inside a service they already use. Your website is where you explain the approach, the services, the practical details and how to contact the practice directly. The facts that appear in both places should agree.
Different jobs
This studio is not a partner of Counselling Directory or any other directory. Nothing here is a member discount or an endorsement. Practitioners can use both. The website does not need to repeat the profile word for word, but the name, the services and the locations should not contradict it.
| Directory profile | Practice website |
|---|---|
| Discovery inside an established service | Your own presentation and direct contact |
| A profile people can compare | Room for approach, services and fees |
| Rules set by that platform | A structure and ownership route you agree |
A cleaner handoff
If the directory allows a website link, send people to the page that answers the question they came with — often fees, a service, or contact — rather than a homepage that makes them start again. Keep that link up to date when you change URLs.
