Online and the profile
Google Business Profile for online therapists
Google Business Profile is Google’s local product; eligibility depends on whether clients visit a place you can represent honestly. Online-only therapy across the UK may not qualify for a profile with a map pin. This guide follows Google’s eligibility and representation help, then how a practice website—with matching structured data—carries the national offer when a listing is not available.
Example bespoke sites
Meridian Room is a designed example with a Leeds room line. It illustrates a hybrid site, not an online-only profile or a virtual office trick.

Individual psychotherapy, usually weekly. £85 for 50 minutes. Thursdays in Leeds, and online on the other days.

These meetings are not an assessment, and you are not asked to send a history. A loss, a relationship, or work are ordinary places to begin.

Online reach in HTML.
A fake map pin contradicts the online page AI answers read. We publish UK-wide remote work in HTML without a street line so Google, ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity quote the same reach as the visible copy.

Under the surface
No address without a room.
This block is on the page because online practices chase pins. The sample Service names remote counselling without a PostalAddress block.

Eligibility: place, service area, or online-only
Google’s Business Profile eligibility help explains which businesses can create a profile. The practical question is whether customers visit a location you are willing to show, use a defined service area, or receive a service with no in-person visit.
The representation guidelines require accurate names, addresses and categories. A virtual office rented only to obtain a pin, or a home address you wanted private, fails that bar even when a category sounds close to counselling.
What online-only practices can publish
Purely online work—clients never attend a room—may mean no Business Profile at all under current Google rules. National discovery then lives on the website: who you see, session format, fee in text, platforms named in plain language, and how to enquire.
When a profile is not eligible, the studio site still carries online reach in HTML on the online route—without a street line the page does not show—and structured data follows the same sentence.
| Situation | Usual public home |
|---|---|
| Clients visit your named room | Profile address matches the room; site agrees |
| You travel to clients in a set area | Service area per Google’s current tools; site describes reach |
| Online-only across the UK | Website + directories; profile only if Google’s eligibility allows |
| Register and fee facts | Same wording on site, directories and any profile you hold |
One story across profile, site and data
When a profile exists, the practice name, phone and category should match therapist website design copy on your domain. A Leeds pin for UK-wide online-only work contradicts both Google’s representation guidance and the online page a visitor reads.
Structured data on the site repeats services and offers without inventing a PostalAddress for online-only routes. Search Console on the website property shows how Google crawls your pages; it does not create profile eligibility.
Therapy Search UK is a separate free directory. Update listing URLs and fees when the site changes so AI answers and search see one consistent story.
What the studio builds when there is no pin
Website design for online therapists covers routes for remote work, fees in text, and JSON-LD without a fake location. For broader profile questions, see Google Business Profile for therapists and websites for online therapy practices.
If you later rent a room, the site and any profile you open are updated together under Managed care so the map, the HTML and the structured data stay aligned.
Published prices for the practice website
Standard Managed is £149 setup and £49 a month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39. Growth Managed is £249 and £69 a month, then £49, when each real service needs its own page. Prices include VAT. Outright is £650 or £995. The domain stays in your name. The monthly fee on Managed is management, not paying the site off.
Google Business Profile itself is free to create when eligible; the studio price covers the website and its structured data layer on pricing.

- I work online across the UK. Can I have a Business Profile?
- Read Google’s current eligibility help. If your practice has no place clients visit, a profile may not be available; the website still carries the offer in HTML and structured data.
- Should I use my home address on a profile?
- A public home address is your choice when it meets Google’s representation rules. The studio site can describe UK-wide online reach on the online route either way.
- How will people find an online-only practice?
- On the website—with services, fees and credentials in text—plus directories and search, not a map pin you are not eligible to show.
