Wix when it still fits—and when a rebuild helps

Wix’s editor, themes and UK hosting are genuine strengths for getting online without hiring a developer. If your fee, specialisms and enquiry are already obvious in text and you are not fighting the layout, staying on Wix can be the right call.

Counsellors usually come to us when the template buries the fee, merges every specialism into one scrolling page, or makes structured data and separate service URLs harder than the practice deserves—not because Wix failed as a product.

What we rebuild on your domain

We compose a bespoke counsellor site in the studio system: anxiety, couples or supervision each get a URL when the reader or fee differs; session prices and BACP or UKCP wording land in HTML with Offer and Service markup beside them.

The replacement is built before cutover—your Wix site can stay live until you approve. Delivery is usually within 7–14 days after discovery for most solo practices, with 2 design rounds included.

Migration, redirects and directories

Platform moves are scoped on website migration for therapists: we list URLs directories already use, map them to the new pages, and apply permanent redirects following Google’s site-move guidance while Search Console shows fetch coverage.

We do not disparage Wix in directory listings—you keep the same practice name; we make the destination site quote the same facts more clearly for Google and answer engines.

A Wix-to-studio rebuild uses the same tariffs as a new counsellor site: Standard Managed £149 setup and £49/month for 12 months, then Website Care at £39; Growth Managed when each specialism needs its own page; outright £650 or £995. Prices include VAT.

There is no separate ‘Wix escape’ surcharge—only the published website price and any centre-scale scope we agree at discovery.

Questions

Do I have to leave Wix?
No. The free consultation can end with ‘stay and tidy copy’ if the site already states fees and services clearly. We only recommend a rebuild when the practice map or structured data needs what we deliver.
Can you move my Wix domain?
Yes—the domain stays registered to you. We plan DNS cutover and redirects so enquiries keep flowing; email DNS is untouched unless mail migration is in scope.
Will rankings drop when I leave Wix?
Google documents that rankings can fluctuate after URL or platform changes. We follow site-move best practice; we do not guarantee positions.
