What should you compare before you pay for a listing?
Compare who is allowed to list, which facts the profile can show, and whether you can link to a site you own. Do not compare them by rumoured traffic. Fees and eligibility change; check the operator on the day you join. A listing does not replace a page where you control the fee and the enquiry.
What to read on the operator’s own page
We do not rank these directories. If your profile is already live and the site behind it is thin, the useful next step is a review of that site, not a second listing.

| Who may join? | Membership bodies and commercial directories do not use the same rule. |
| Which fields are public? | Specialisms, fees, format and a link to your site are the useful ones. |
| Where does the enquiry go? | If it never reaches a page you own, you cannot deepen the answer. |
| What does it cost now? | Quote the operator, not a blog from last year. |
