An SEO checklist for a counselling website

What can you check on your own site before you pay for a rebuild?

Read the live pages as a stranger. Each real service should have a page, a title that matches it, a link to fees and contact, and no setting that hides it from Google. Search Console tells you whether Google has seen the page. It does not promise a position.

Pages and words

A checklist item you cannot complete because the practice does not offer that service should stay blank. Empty location pages are not a tick.

  • The homepage names who the practice is for and the next step
  • Each service you want enquiries for has its own URL
  • The title and the heading describe that page, not the whole practice
  • Fees, format and place or online scope are on the page, not only in a PDF
  • Related pages link to each other in ordinary sentences

What to look for in the source and in Search Console

If the structure is already sound and a form or a noindex tag is the fault, a full rebuild is the wrong first purchase. The review should be able to say so.

  • The public site is the address you tell people, on HTTPS
  • Important pages are not marked noindex
  • Old addresses you still share redirect to the closest new page
  • The sitemap you submit lists those pages
  • URL Inspection shows Google fetched the page you think is live
