Location pages for a private practice

What makes a location page worth publishing?

Publish a location page when you genuinely see people there and can describe the room, the area, access and whether you also work online. Do not publish a page for every nearby town with the town name swapped in. That pattern is thin for visitors and risky as a search tactic.

Useful geography

A strong location page names the neighbourhood or town you actually use, how someone reaches the building if you are happy to say so, what the arrival is like, and who the sessions are for. A home consulting room needs a privacy decision: many practitioners describe the area and give the full address only after contact. That is a legitimate choice. Inventing a public office is not.

If you work in two real rooms, each one can have its own notes. If you travel to clients, say so plainly and name the area you actually cover. Do not imply a studio has offices in those towns; this guide is about the practitioner’s site, not ours.

What to leave out

Google’s profile rules treat online-only businesses differently from practices that see people at a location. Eligibility is a property-by-property question. A page on your website and a Maps profile are not the same project.

  • Town pages you cannot distinguish except for the place name
  • A map pin on a home if you have decided not to publish the address
  • A claim that a Maps listing exists, or will exist, for an online-only practice
