A redesign checklist for a therapy website
What has to be written down before the new site replaces the old one?
List the URLs people already use, the images you have rights to, the enquiry route, and the mail records. Keep the current site up until the replacement has been checked. Redirect changed addresses to the closest new page.

Protect before you redesign
The current site stays live during the build. Cutover happens after the preview, the forms and the redirect map have been checked.
- Export the URL list from the current site and from Search Console
- Mark the addresses that directories and colleagues already link to
- Save copy worth keeping, and note image licences
- Photograph the current enquiry form so the new one is not a step backwards
- Write down MX and related mail records before any DNS change
- Agree which professional claims are allowed on the new pages
After the domain moves
Test the old URLs. A redirect to the homepage is a failure unless the old page truly has no equivalent. Submit the new sitemap. Watch the pages report for “not found” and “page with redirect” that you did not intend. Positions can still move. The checklist reduces avoidable loss. It does not freeze them.
